STATE POLICE MEMORIAL DAY STATS

The following is a summary of the State Police motor vehicle Memorial Day weekend enforcement.


The Operation started on 05/22/09 at midnight and continued until midnight on 05/25/09.

05/22/09 midnight until 05/25/09 11:59 p.m.

Accidents--257  with injury 47     2-fatal   (Preston) (Trumbull)
  
DWI Arrests--- 64   Seatbelt Tickets --1499     Speeding Tickets--1056


The Memorial Day weekend enforcement operation utilized additional Troopers who manned sobriety checkpoints, targeted DWI and aggressive driving patrols across the State of Connecticut.

As the summer season continues motorists are reminded, if they see a suspected drunk driver call  911 as this is a true emergency. Help the State Police continue to keep the highways and roadways of Connecticut safe.
