STATE POLICE MAKE NARCOTICS ARRESTS IN TOLLAND

On 09/04/09, the Statewide Narcotics Taskforce, North Central Office, assisted by the Tolland Resident Troopers Office, concluded a several-months long investigation into narcotics sales in Tolland with the execution of a search and seizure warrant at 177 Shenipsit Lake Road in Tolland. As a result of this investigation, State Police seized five and a half ounces of marijuana, multiple tablets of a controlled substance, scales, packaging materials, drug paraphernalia and five firearms from the residence.

Subsequent investigation by State Police led them to an elaborate indoor marijuana grow operation at 23 Metcalf Road in Tolland and the seizure of more than 30 marijuana plants, hydroponic equipment, two pounds of cultivated marijuana and eight firearms.

These searches resulted in the arrests of following persons:

1)  Robert T. Elliot, W/M, 10/26/63, of 177 Shenipsit Lake Rd, Tolland

Charges:  Possession of Marijuana

                   Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell

               Operating a Drug Factory

               Criminal Possession of a Firearm (5 counts)

               Possession of Controlled Substance

               Risk of Injury to a Minor

            

2)  Lea M. Elliott, W/F, DOB 09/28/68, of 177 Shenipsit Lake Rd, Tolland

Charges:  Possession of Marijuana

                   Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell

               Risk of Injury to a Minor

3)   Steven D. Deschaine, W/M, DOB 04/29/67, of 23 Metcalf Rd, Tolland

Charges: Possession of Marijuana

                          Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell

                          Cultivation of over 1 kilo of Marijuana

                          Operating a Drug Factory

                          Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Possession of a Firearm

                          Accessory to Criminal Possession of a Firearm (8 Counts)

Robert Elliott and Steven Deshaine were held on cash bonds pending court dates at GA 19 in Rockville. Lea Elliott was released on non-surety bond pending a court date at GA 19 in Rockville.
