STATE POLICE MAKE ARREST OF PERSONS WHO HAD ILLEGALLY OBTAINED DRIVERS LICECENSES OR LICENCES UPGRADES FROM FORMER DMV EMPLOYEE

   Throughout the day on 08/20/2009, Detectives from the MVFTF (Motor Vehicle Fraud Task Force) along with federal and local authorities attempted to locate and arrest multiple subjects in Bridgeport who were wanted on Arrest Warrants stemming from the on-going MVFTF Investigation into subjects who had illegally obtained Drivers Licenses or License Upgrades from a Former DMV Employee (Juan Casiano)at the Norwalk DMV Office. (The DMV employee (Casiano) has already been arrested and his cases are pending in Court). The basic investigation is being conducted by MVFTF with assistance from the DMV.

    The subject Jeovany Rios was arrested as a” Middleman” who brought people to the DMV to get licenses by circumventing the DMV testing procedures.  He took bribes from these people and paid the bribes to the former DMV employee Casiano, who was a DMV inspector at the time.  The other subjects arrested were charged with obtaining the fraudulent issued licenses or upgrades without testing and or also providing false or misleading information or statements during the investigation.

    As a result of the continuing Investigation State Police Detectives submitted eight arrest warrants applications to Superior Court for the arrest of the eight accused in this case.

    All of the eight accused subjects were located and arrested at their residence, place of employment or surrender at Troop “G” in Bridgeport where they were processed and held on bond with scheduled court dates to appear in Norwalk Superior Court GA. 20.

  Detectives have seized approximately fifty separate illegally issued licenses.  This investigation is continuing and additional arrests are anticipated.
