                        STATE POLICE CONTINUE INVESTIGATION INTO

                                    EAST HARTFORD POLICE SHOOTING

   The Connecticut State Police Central District Major Crime Squad is continuing the investigation into the East Hartford Police shooting that took place at shortly after 11:18 p.m. on Saturday 01/10/09. 

   At the request  of the Hartford State’s Attorney and the East Hartford Police Chief, the State Police Central District Major Crime Squad responded to conduct this investigation. State Police Detectives are being assisted by the State’s Attorneys Office and East Hartford Police.

   State Police Detectives processed and documented the shooting scene. They  collected physical and forensic evidence and began to interview witnesses.

   A post mortem examination was conducted on the deceased by the Office of the Chief State’s Medical Examiner on Sunday 01/11/09. The medical examiner determined that the cause of death was gunshot wounds.

   The deceased suspect has been identified as:

                  WILSON,  Taurean   DOB: 9/15/82

                  LKA 11 Kenyon St.

                  Hartford, Connecticut

   The State Police investigation is continuing.
