STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE ALLEGED ABDUCTION

On 08/24/09 at approximately 5:54pm, Connecticut State Police at Troop A received a 911 call from a 16 year-old female who reported that she was being transported from New York to the Boston Area against her will.

Based on information received via the 911 call State Police Troopers were quickly able to locate the victim who was traveling on a “Lucky Star” transportation bus.   The bus was stopped on Interstate I-84 eastbound at exit 17 in Middlebury.  The bus was on a regularly scheduled route from New York to Boston

State Police Troopers boarded the bus and were able to locate the victim, who appeared to be uninjured.  State Police Western District Major Crime Squad Detectives responded to the scene to assume the investigation.

Subsequently a male identified as Watson, Kibwe (DOB:02/26/82) of 3830 White Plains Road, Bronx, NY, was arrested and charged with Interfering, Criminal Impersonation and Failure to Submit to Fingerprints.  Watson was held on a $3,000 bond and will be arraigned at GA #4 in Waterbury on 08/25/09.

Based on interviews of the complainant and witnesses, this case is ongoing and under investigation by State Police Western District Major Crime Detectives.
