                        NARCOTICS ARRESTS AT SCSU CAMPUS

   In early October 2008 Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) Police Department developed information during a criminal investigation of possible sale of narcotics on the campus of the university.

   SCSU Police initiated an investigation and requested the assistance of the Connecticut State Police  Statewide Narcotics Task force to conduct a joint criminal investigation into this issue. 

   During the investigation undercover statewide narcotics task force detectives were able infiltrate the narcotics sales operation and made several controlled narcotics purchases from a small concentrated group on campus.

   As a result of investigative facts and circumstances developed in this criminal investigation,  Statewide Narcotics Detectives submitted a search and seizure warrant application and seven (7) arrest warrant applications to Superior Court.  The warrants were all issued by the court for this case. 

   On 03/11/09 at 7:00 a.m. SCSU Police Officers and State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force Detectives executed the search and seizure warrant at a townhouse located on the university campus at 188 Pine Rock Ave D-28 Hamden, Ct.  In addition seven arrest warrants were served and the seven accused were taken into custody and two additional on site arrests were made. They were transported to SCSU Police Station were they were processed and bonds were set.  All arrested will appear in Superior Court to answer the felony narcotics charges.

   Today shortly after 7:00 a.m. State Police Narcotics  Detectives and Southern Connecticut State University Police executed a search and seizure warrant at a residence located at 188 Pine Rock Ave., Hamden. Seized during that search were 242 Assorted prescription pills (oxycotin type) with a street value of $12,000, Marijuana with a street value of $3500, $900 cash, drug paraphernalia scales, cutting agents, and package materials.
