   STATE POLICE TROOP I TO CONDUCT
SOBRIETY CHECKPOINT LABOR DAY WEEKEND

   On Friday, September 4, 2009, Connecticut State Police from Troop I in Bethany will conduct a DUI Sobriety Checkpoint operation in an effort to identify and apprehend intoxicated motor vehicle operators.

   The hours of operation will be from 6:30 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2009, until 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2009.  This enforcement operation will be conducted in accordance with the 2009 Labor Day DUI grant parameters.

   The State Police personnel are working in this area as it is heavily traveled.  During the Holiday period, Troopers will actively seek out and identify any individual who is operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor, drugs or both.

   The enforcement location of the DUI checkpoint will be the Interstate 91 Entrance Ramp from Willow Street/Blatchley Avenue, in the City of New Haven.


   The secondary location will be the Interstate 91, Southbound, Exit 3 off-ramp, also in the City of New Haven.
