                           WAKE, FUNERAL and MEDIA PLAN FOR

                                 NEW HAVEN Sgt. Dario “Scott” Aponte

Wake-FRIDAY, 09/12/08

   On Friday, 09/12/08, the wake for Sgt. Dario Aponte will be held from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at the Celentano Funeral Home located at 424 Elm St., New Haven, CT.

   All media is asked to muster only across the street from the funeral home. There is no parking available in the vicinity of the funeral home. It is suggested that all media vehicles park legally in the Whalley Avenue area.

Funeral-SATURDAY, 09/13/08

   On Saturday, 09/13/08, the New Haven Police Honor Guard will depart the funeral home on foot at 9:20 a.m. with the Police Officers walking to St Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church located on George Street in New Haven for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am.

   A press staging area at the church will be located at George and Orchard Streets to allow for video of the procession arriving at the church. The alternate location for visual of the procession would be Dwight & George Streets.

   At the request of the family no cameras are allowed in the church.

Burial

   At the completion of Funeral Mass, the funeral will leave church traveling to Mount St. Peter’s Cemetery, 219 New Haven Ave, Derby. 

   A press stage area will be located just inside the entrance to the cemetery. 

   At the family’s request, members of the press are asked to stage only at the entrance to the cemetery.

   No cameras allowed near grave site.
