STATE POLICE INVESTIGATING UNTIMELY DEATH

Connecticut State Police are investigating an untimely death on I-95 in New London.

At 1:46 p.m. today, State Police received a 911 call regarding the untimely death of a male near Route 32 South and Interstate 95 Northbound. Preliminary investigation revealed that the male jumped from the Route 32 overpass and was subsequently struck by a vehicle on the Route 32 to I-95 northbound on-ramp. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

All lanes of Route 32 South were closed briefly, but have since re-opened. 

State Police have responded to the scene and have secured it for investigative purposes. A preliminary investigation reveal that no foul play is suspected in this untimely death.  The investigation is continuing.

The deceased male has been identified as Len. W. Turpin,  DOB 3-26-46, 44 Dubois Road, Uncasville CT.
