The Connecticut State Police at Troop C, in conjunction with the School Resource Officer Program, will be conducting a Citizens Police Academy for interested High School Seniors and Juniors at Troop C in Tolland that will begin in April 2006.  The goal of this Citizens Police Academy is to enlighten students interested in Law Enforcement as to the responsibilities of Connecticut State Troopers and to assist them with their career decision-making process.  Some of the topics presented will include the History of the State Police, Driving While Intoxicated Enforcement, Patrol Responsibilities, Motor Vehicle Stops, Emergency Services, the Criminal Justice System, Major Crimes and Recruitment/Selections. 

This Citizens Police Academy class will meet for nine weeks, on Wednesdays, from 6:00-9:00 pm.  If you are a High School Senior or Junior at Ellington, E.O. Smith, Somers, Stafford or Tolland High Schools and are interested in attending this Citizen’s Police Academy you are asked to contact your School Resource Officer and to submit an application for admittance.  A limited number of students will be selected from each school.  For additional information contact TFC Robert O’CONNOR at Troop C at 860-896-3231.
