Bank Robbery in Woodstock

On Monday- July 31, 2006 at approximately 2:03 p.m.  state troopers responded to a 911 call reporting a bank robbery at the West Bank on Route 171 in the Town of Woodstock CT.

Initial reports were that a lone male entered the bank and demanded money. No weapon was displayed. An undetermined amount of money was given to the suspect. No injuries were reported.

The male perpetrator is being described as a  white male in his 40’s, approximately 5’6” in height and approximately 150 to 170 lbs. in weight  with sandy colored hair, a mustache with an unkempt facial hair and possibly pock mark scaring on his face. The suspect was wearing a dark baseball cap, a black t-shirt with an unknown yellow logo on the shirt and sunglasses.

Troopers responded to the scene however the suspect had fled the area on foot. State Police K-9 Units responded to the scene and attempted to track the perpetrator.                                     

An investigation was initiated and the State Police Major Crime Squad responded to the scene to process the crime scene and gather and collect physical evidence.  ###end###
