Details:

The Connecticut State Police Western District Major Crime Squad is investigating the death of Lazaro Piedra.

On May 10, 1996 at approximately 2:00 a.m., the victim, Lazaro Piedra, was found shot to death inside a maroon colored Ford Taurus on the 27-A ramp leading from I-95 North to Route 25/8 North in the city of Bridgeport.

The investigation at the time of the incident indicates that the victim had a history of narcotics and weapons arrests and it is believed that the killing was a retaliation resulting from a narcotics deal gone bad.

No witnesses to the murder were ever located.

Connecticut's Governor John G. Rowland has authorized a reward of $20,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the murder of Lazaro Piedra.
