Public Information Office

The Public Information Office (PIO) gathers and disseminates timely and accurate information regarding law enforcement efforts to the public through various print and broadcast media in the state of Connecticut.

Through the media, the PIO staff brings information to the public. This information might include serious highway accidents, missing persons or help wanted from potential witnesses to crimes or accidents. Information is distributed to Connecticut citizens through new releases, press conferences and special events. The PIO office of the Connecticut State Police is committed to ensuring that the public is aware of our activities, our services and our presence.

Trooper First Class Christine Jeltema (Public Information Office)

TFC JeltemaTrooper First Class Christine Jeltema graduated from the Connecticut State Police Training Academy in 2004. She has served as a patrol trooper at Troop A in Southbury and Troop H in Hartford, including Bradley International Airport. Her most recent assignment was at the State Police Training Academy, where she was the State Police Youth Week Coordinator and Recruit Experiential Training Coordinator.  She also has instructed in Mental Health First Aid, Domestic Violence, Human Trafficking, Legal Updates and Workplace Violence.  TFC Jeltema is a Domestic Violence Liaison with Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence and serves as a S.T.O.P.S. (State Trooper Offering Peer Support) volunteer with CSP. In addition, TFC Jeltema serves in the CT Army National Guard, where she holds the rank of Major. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Western CT State University.

Trooper Josue Dorelus

Trooper Josue Dorelus graduated from the State Police Training Academy in December 2014. He was assigned to Troop I in Bethany until June 2018 when he was transferred to the Public Information Office. Trooper Dorelus earned a B.A. from Southern Connecticut State University.
