Training and Exercise

The Connecticut Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security develops a training and exercise schedule yearly to meet state, local and regional training and exercise needs as outlined in the training and exercise plan and the statewide strategic plan. The substance of training and exercises is developed through the identification of local and regional needs, the DEMHS statewide strategy, and federal guidance.

Emergency Planning and Preparedness Initiative (EPPI):

Since 2012, the Training and Exercise Unit of DEMHS has coordinated an annual statewide exercise known as the Emergency Planning and Preparedness Initiative (EPPI). The purpose of this initiative is to prepare state, tribal, local and private non-profit partners in Connecticut for natural and man-made disasters. Additional initiative information, including scenario archives can be found by clicking here.
