Introduction to Fishing Courses - Built for Beginners!

Father daughter fishing team

Introduction to Fishing Courses are the premier activity of the CARE program. Our goal is to insert a broad complement of environmental and ecological information into an entertaining yet informative fishing package. Students leave with the confidence and knowledge to fish safely, legally, and successfully on their own!

Introduction to Fishing Courses are designed for adults and families with children 8 years and older with little or no fishing experience.

State certified fishing Instructors cover all the basics to get started fishing in a fun, interactive 2-hour classroom session and then head to a local waterbody for an instructor-led fishing trip! During the classroom session, instructors use PowerPoint presentations and hands-on activities to develop fishing skills. All fishing equipment is provided for use during the fishing field trip. Just make sure you have a fishing license if you are 16 years old or over and a positive attitude!

  2. Knots
  3. Responsible and Ethical Angling
