Connecticut Project Learning Tree

Where We Teach and Learn Together…Naturally

CT Project Learning Tree Logo

Project Learning Tree® (PLT) is an award-winning environmental education program designed for teachers and other educators, parents and community leaders working with youth from preschool through Grade 12.

Project Learning Tree uses the forest as a “window” into natural and built environments, helping people gain an awareness and knowledge of the world around them, as well as their place within it.

Since its inception in 1976 PLT has been recognized as one of the premier environmental education programs in the world.  Through hands-on, interdisciplinary activities, PLT provides students with opportunities to investigate environmental issues and encourages them to make informed, responsible decisions.  PLT helps students learn how to think, not what to think, about the environment.

PLT is a program of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI).  Within Connecticut, PLT is co-sponsored by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and Connecticut Forest and Park Association
