Make a Charitable Donation to
Help Protect Long Island Sound

The Long Island Sound Fund accepts charitable donations to help preserve and protect Long Island Sound. In addition to purchasing a Preserve the Sound license plate for your car, truck, commercial or combination vehicle, camper, or boat trailer, you also have the option to make a charitable donation at any time, and for any amount you choose. The Fund has received many generous corporate, private, memorial, and celebratory donations. These donations make great gifts for holidays, milestone birthdays or anniversaries, memorials, or life celebrations such as weddings or the birth of a child.

Your donation will be used to support the many projects funded by this valuable program, including:

  • Creation of new and improved shoreline public access sites, including beaches, waterfront boardwalks and parks, fishing piers and boat launches;
  • Education and outreach programs to increase awareness about the Sound and its resources;
  • Restoration of natural habitats for birds, fish and wildlife; and,
  • Research projects to help us learn more about how to protect Long Island Sound and its many inhabitants.

The Long Island Sound Fund provides many ways for you to participate in the preservation and protection of Connecticut’s most valuable natural resource – Long Island Sound. A charitable donation is a great way to demonstrate your support!

To make a donation, please print and complete the attached donation form, attach a check made out to "DEEP – LIS Fund" and mail them to:

When making a donation in honor of another person, please indicate the person or persons you would like to receive an acknowledgement of your donation, their mailing address(es) and the purpose of the donation on the donation form. A letter of receipt will also be sent to you as the donor for tax purposes.
