REAL ESTATE EDUCATION PROVIDERS:

All schools interested in offering real estate courses to qualify students for a real estate license and/or to satisfy continuing education requirements for license renewal, must register with the Department of Consumer Protection and receive approval prior to offering any courses. A School Code will be assigned to your school when approved. In addition, all courses must be registered and approved prior to being offered.  Please read all of the Laws and Regulations available on this site governing real estate schools.

Schools must provide to each student a written verification of a successfully completed course. Verification must contain the name and credential number of the school, the date of the course, name of the course, number of hours completed, and name of the student.

Please email questions to: DCP.RealEstateSchool@ct.gov.

Real Estate education providers must verify course approval and track course expiration by looking up their school and courses online at https://www.elicense.ct.gov/.

APPRAISAL EDUCATION PROVIDERS:

Connecticut's requirements concerning appraisal schools and course offering has changed.

As of October 19, 2015, all schools will be required to submit a new online application with an application fee of $100.00 and initial registration fee of $200.00. You will be issued a new registration number. Your school registration will be valid through September 30, 2017. After that it will be a biennial renewal. The renewal fee is $200.00. All current school credentials will be inactive as of December 15, 2015.

As of October 19, 2015, any new courses will need to be submitted online and include a $100.00 registration fee. Your currently approved course's expiration date will not change; however, once courses expire they must be applied for using the online application. If you need your course expiration date please email us at the address below. The Real Estate Appraisal Commission will approve courses at their monthly meetings.

These changes apply only to schools offering appraisal courses. If you do not wish to offer courses for appraisal pre-licensing or continuing education you do not need to complete the new application. If you are currently an approved school for appraisal education and do not complete the school application, any courses currently approved under your school will expire as of December 15, 2015.

Please email any questions regarding this requirement to: DCP.RealEstateSchool@ct.gov
